Christmas Tour ~ The Stonybrook House

Merry Christmas!
I know I've been a bit MIA lately...
It's just a busy time of year!
I really enjoy Christmas, so I thought I'd give you a tiny tour of the decor I bring out to celebrate this blessed time of year.
Welcome into our home...
This is our tree in the entry way. It used to go in the "formal" living room, but if you've been following me you know thats been changed! (Into an awesome Pool Table Room! Check it out here.)
There was no way it was going to fit in there so we rearranged some furniture for Christmas.
In the pool room, there is only a few decorations...
A little something in the window sill.
And a little something on the ledge...
In the office, I just have a little nativity set up on the file cabinet.
Nativity scenes are so important to me.  They represent the true meaning of this wonderful time of year.  Don't you love the "peace" sign above it?  Perfect....
Then we'll move into the kitchen...
This is on the bar as you walk in...
I have some empty apothecary jars I'll fill with candy, once the kiddos are back from college.
I'd rather they empty them than me!!

I even put some bows and such on the top of the fridge...

Does anyone have one of these?
This is dear to me.  My grandmother painted it and gave it to me many years ago.  She's passed and gone to heaven, but this reminds me of her sweet smile and her creativity.
I must have inherited some of that from her!

On our dining table...
Now on to my favorite room...
:))))
This room just make me happy.
Here's some close ups of of some of my favorite things...
This nativity brings me back... I don't really know how I acquired it, but I believe it was my mother's when she was growing up.  And I remember it from my childhood.

Yep, my kiddos made that nativity when they were very little.

Winter Christmas wreath.
You can see how I made that here.

These little reindeer... They've been used and abused for 20+ years. My son used to played with them every year when he was little. He's broken antlers and we've glued and re-glued... This is where he put them this year. :)

Here's a few other vignettes, I have scattered around the house...

Well, that pretty much does it.
I hope and pray you are enjoying this time of year as much as I am!
Now, we just need a bit of snow! :)

It's so easy to get caught up in all the hoopla of this time of year.
I'm trying to remember that a very long, long time ago....

A young couple were traveling on a hard dirty and dusty road.  Mary was very young, very pregnant, and most likely very uncomfortable,
probably riding on a donkey.  They were such a long way from home,
trying to reach Bethlehem before she gave birth.
Knowing no one, no relatives to stay with... only finding a small stable to bring the Son of God into the world.  The baby... the man...
that would be the Savior of my soul. Incredible!
Merry Christmas!
