The wedding photos are not in yet, of course, but I'll share a few snaps that guests and family took. Oh, the photographer, Lauren Paige Photography, put up some sneak peeks! 💕 Oh... my daughter is sooo beautiful! I just love this photo! They are so in love....
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. I mean seriously... not one thing went wrong! We were so blessed with perfect weather. The day before it was rainy and icky. The day of the wedding... a high of 75 degrees with 0% humidity. What??!! No humidity in the south? I couldn't believe it, but I'll take it!😍
I drove down earlier in the week to help with last minute details. There's always little stuff that needs to get done. My daughter and her fiance had it all together and organzied. I was extremely impressed by my daughter's list making skills. (She learned that from her momma 😊)
There was one tiny snag.... I was making the 'cutting cake'. They were having cupcakes for guests, but still wanted to cut a cake for photos and tradition. So, I was making a small 6 inch cake for them. It was a chocolate cake with raspberry swiss meringue filling and cream cheese icing on the outside. Sounds delicious, right??!!
The cake came out fine, the filling came out fine.... the cream cheese icing flopped, not once but twice!! It was going to be a swiss meringue cream cheese icing and for the life of me I couldn't get it to work! Every time I added the cream cheese it would fall apart. 😟
I gave up on it.... my daughter's sweet friend (and bridesmaid) that was making the wedding cupcakes, just happen to have enough cream cheese icing to frost the cake. Yay! Pattie to the rescue! Thankfully, it all turned out great! 💛
The rehearsal and dinner went well. The groom's parents provided a lovely dinner at a nice well known restaurant in downtown Lynchburg. They are the sweetest people... it was a pleasure meeting them and their family.
I cried at the rehearsal, of course... well, I cried most of the week off and on... I don't even know why. I was just so happy for my baby girl and I am so proud of the beautiful godly woman she's become inside and out. That's what I've prayed for since I held her in my arms when she was born... Thank you, Lord for answered prayers.
The day of the wedding, I went over to her hotel room and we got started on her hair. I'd already practiced her wedding hair two times before, so I was praying it would go well... and it did! 😍
She looked so beautiful!
I managed to get myself ready also and we all headed over to The Trivium Estate. Which by the way, is a magnificent wedding venue! Victoria, their wedding coordinator, is fantastic. She took care of every single detail and has that place running like a well oiled machine. She was amazing!
Before you knew it the photographer was there and snapping away. My daughter and her fiancé decided to do 'First Look' photos, which I thought was terrific. Hubby and I did the same thing almost 30 years ago. I feel it just allows the day to flow and also calms all the jitters, too. But you wouldn't know if those two love birds had any jitters, they just seemed so calm, cool and collected.
The wedding was exceptional and yes... I cried through that, too. Hubby was able to keep it together walking our lovely sweet daughter down the aisle. He did fantastic!
One of the most beautiful things I saw, was the groom watching his bride coming down the aisle as tears streamed down his face. The love he has for our daughter grew with each step she took towards him. There aren't enough words... it was simply beautiful.
The service was awesome, focusing on the love of Christ and their commitment to Him.
The Lord is so gracious and loving... He blesses us with His grace and sacrifice. He brought these two together in the most perfect way. Then He showered them with His love... I pray that their marriage will be strong and the commitment they made that day will stand the test of time. That they will seek God's wisdom and strength throughout the years. Thank You, Lord for all you have done and all that You will be doing in their lives...
I can't believe that hubby and I will be celebrating 30 years soon! 💗
And now.... Mr and Mrs... was announced! Yay!
Now the fun begins! The reception was held in the ballroom, all decorated and ready! Simply elegant...
They had a catered burger bar with mac and cheese and roasted potatoes. I loved it! It was perfect an oh so tasty!
The other beautiful moment, that I don't have a photo of... yet... Is the father/daughter dance... I was too busy balling my eyes out to think of snapping one photo. The love my husband has for his little girl was so wonderful to see, as she laid her head on her daddy's chest while they danced to 'Butterfly kisses'. They used to give butterfly kisses every night before tucking her into bed... Now she will lay her head on her husband's chest looking to him for that love and security. 💕 Whew... the tears...
We did lots and lots of dancing! So glad I decided to wear my flats for the day. My feet were happy! Here's a photo with me and my daughter. Aren't her flowers spectacular??
And one with my son. Such a handsome guy!
Siblings!! Love this!!😍
I cannot believe that hubby and I didn't take ONE photo together!! Our minds were on other things that day... Hoping the photographer caught some great ones! The happy couple cut the cake, danced and played the shoe game! So much fun! My new son in law created an awesome photo booth! The guests and family had a super time creating souvenirs for that night!
It all ended with a sparkler exit. It was so amazing!!!💗💗💗
We were all exhausted when it was all over, but every minute was worth it. So many wonderful memories were made that night! I'm so thankful to the Lord, for blessing us with a perfect day!
So, now I'm ready to get back in the saddle and work on some projects. My son actually asked me what I was going to do with myself now that I'm not working on the wedding stuff... Hahaha lol! I told him that I really didn't do all that much for the wedding... Credit goes to my daughter!! She did amazing!!
Then I asked him, if he's ever known me to be bored or laying around with nothing to do??? I reasurred him that I have PLENTY to do. Lots of projects that I've been dying to work on. Unfortunately, we have an apartment vacant, so I am working on getting that ready. Hopefully, I'll have it finished this week. Then I can squeeze in some free time for fun things!!
Blessings,
