Dollar Tree Bins to Galvanized Buckets

Hi there!! Long time no see.... I'm still around.  It's just been a crazy couple of weeks!  I'm calling this my 'squirrel project'.  😉

Some of you might know what I mean by that....  If you've seen the movie, UP, then you'll know.  What's funny is that I just saw that movie for the first time around Christmas. 😆 I'm not one for "cartoon" movies, but this one was pretty cute.

So, where have I been lately?? I have been in the thick of 4 apartment vacancies.  Man, when it rains it pours... So, I'm in charge of cleaning them out, figuring what needs to be done and getting them ready to rent.   My days have been spent touch up painting, scrubbing and cleaning.  😩   I'm ready for a break!

Oh! Let's not forget Hubby and I have been working on our bedroom! 😍😍😍  We just finished our plank wall.  Just a few more things to complete and I'll be sharing it with you soon!!

Anywhoobs, back to my squirrel project! I saw some plastic bins at the Dollar Tree and thought they might just work for my kitchen. Hmmmm... If I paint them, they might look like these...

Cute, right?? I could've just purchased them, but...  I'm not sure if that's what I want up there forever.  I've really been dragging my feet putting something up there.  Nothing seems right. This just seemed like an easy solution to see if this is the look I would like.

The bins at Walmart are $7.47 each. Not bad, but I need 11 of them.... that comes to over $82.00.  A little more that I want to spend.  I picked up the bins at the Dollar Tree.  Then I purchased some spray paint, one in Rustoleum Ultra Cover 2X Granite and one in Rustoleum Antique Nickel .

Yep, my professional spray painting area during the winter. 😉
I didn't even bother spray painting the insides, who's gonna see?

Then I added labels to the fronts.

These are the labels I picked up on Amazon, 30 for $12.99. Bronze Tone Library Antique Label

Total cost per bin,  about $2 each.  What?!! Oh, yeah!  Now, that's what I'm talking about!

The cost difference is unbelievable! $82 to $22.

From a distance, you really can't tell that much... I mean who's really going to go inspect them and tell me... "Uh... Lori, those aren't real... they look kinda plastic to me..." And if they did... 😂😂😂  Like I would care??!!
