We traveled to Virginia to visit my daughter for Father's Day!
I'm so glad that we got to spend time with her and her boyfriend.
We went on a wonderful hike.
The scenery was amazing and the water falls were beautiful.
It was a perfect day.
I know that Hubby enjoyed spending time with his baby girl...
I just love this picture!
Of course, I had to have a pic for (My) Fashion Over 40...
My daughter is the the real fashionista!
This is on our way to church.
I love her maxi dress. I always wonder if I could pull that off...
I'm in a new pair of jean capris I picked up at Kohls last week.
And the shirt is one I found at .... wait for it... it seems to be my favorite place...
JC Penny's.
I guess I do find quite a few shirts there.
And the flat's I bought this summer at Payless, super comfy!
My daughter and her boyfriend attend
Gospel Community Church.
They don't actually have a building, the church is using
a night club on Sunday's mornings.
It's pretty cool.
The speaker was Dr. Wheeler from Liberty University.
My daughter took his course on evangelism.
Well, every freshmen will pretty much take his class...
1 Corinthians 6:12-20
12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”[b] 17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.[c]
18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
This is not an easy text to preach from.
This goes against everything the world teaches.
Our bodies were meant to honor The Lord.
We are meant to stay pure until marriage.
We aren't supposed to be like the world.
If we are Christ followers, we need to remember that we were bought for a price.
A very high price, Christ's blood. He died to set us free.
He owns us, we are His.
If we are going to serve Him, then it's not about what pleases us.
It's about what pleases Him.
Be Blessed!
