Yesterday was a different kind of day.... It started off pretty normal. But God had other plans.
I don't really have much to say about this outfit, because my mind is more preoccupied with what took place yesterday. The only thing I can think of right now, is that I see why I need more scarves. This scarf adds just enough, without it....boring. And this is pretty much my only fall/winter scarf. I've got to remedy that, and soon!
Anyway. Church started out pretty normal. A beautiful worship time, you could feel the power and presence of the Lord. It just seemed to hover. Then one person after another began to share what God placed on their heart, and testimonies of God's provision and goodness. People talked about transition, having faith, crossing over the threshold, remembering that God will never leave you, and that He will always be with us through all of lifes changes. It was so powerful.
Our family has been going to this church for 23 years. My son was one year old when we first started there. We have always had the same pastor. Yesterday morning, God was preparing and reassuring our church; He was reminding us that He is still on the throne.
Our pastor announced his resignation.
Our pastor's health has not been the best for the past few years and he has been dropping hints and taking a step back for the past several months. I knew this was coming, but I didn't think it would come this soon.
Yeah, it kinda rocked my world. This man is such a wonderful servant of God. I admire and look up to him. He has been a father to many in our church, including me. I don't have any sort of relationship with my birth father, but our pastor has been like a father to me. He has been there and helped our family through many difficulties. I love him dearly and will miss him even more, especially his lovely wife and daughter. But I am happy for them, excited for what God has in store for them!
This is going to be a time of transition, change....but change can be good, it can be great! I don't know what God has in store, but I have peace. God always wants the best for us. He is still on the throne. This did not surprise Him. I'm pretty sure, He knows what's happening. I have confidence and trust that we will come through this, and our faith in God will be stronger.
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Jeremiah 29:11-14
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord.
These verses reassure me that God is for us, not against us! He definitely has a plan, and it's always a good one!
Be Blessed,
