Most people say they would be bored staying at home and not having a full-time job. In all of my 25 years being a stay at home mom/wife, I have never been bored… Until now. This is me bored...
You'll have to check out Instagram or Facebook to see the whole video, lol. 😂😂😂
"Bored out of my mind"... might be a slight exaggeration but not much. I'm used to being busy from sunup to sundown. Sure, I've enjoyed some of the downtime. I've Netflix binged, watched a bunch of YouTube videos, read books, fed my Facebook and Instagram addiction… but seriously, you can only do that for so long. That's when you start doing Snapchat videos...😋
I have done one thing that super productive. I've been turning all of my old VHS tapes into digital files. I purchased the, Diamond Multimedia USB 2.0 Video Capture, on Amazon for around $40.
Great deal and easy to use! I've been wanting to do it for years! Granted some of the files aren't the best quality, but the tapes are old, 20+ years old. It also seemed to depend on the quality of the tape. We had a bad habit of taping over old stuff 😏... Now, I just have to work on the 8 mm videos.
I am trying to stay busy. I can't write or type too well one handed, so I use talk text and the Reminders App on my phone to keep track of my lists. That has been a lifesaver! I'm able to keep my to do list on there, grocery list, Honey Do, etc. That has helped preserve some of my sanity.
Another thing I've been tryin to work on... Photo organization. It was on the top of my priorities to work on. I've been able to work on it a little bit at a time. That whole project is overwhelming. I've made some headway, but I have a long way to go. That's okay, I have a long road to recovery. I just read some information, that has really helped... maybe another post.
Speaking of recovery, my therapist says I'm doing excellent! Look! Now I'm using weights! 😁
I'm at 5 weeks, since my surgery. I have pretty much full range of motion, passively that is. We've come a long way, baby!
I just have to keep plugging away at doing my 'home therapy' 3 times a day.👍
One of the main things I'm worried about, is gaining weight. I have done ZERO exercise for five weeks! I know that means all my muscle is turning to fat! I am turning into a bowlful of JELLO!!! ugh...
I also know that it's going to be a long time before I can start my regular exercise routine. It's been gorgeous here for the last couple of days, and I have gone out a few times to walk around the block. That's about all I can handle right now.
We'll get there!
Another thing I've been thinking a lot about is cleaning out and downsizing. Hubby and I watched a movie on Netflix called Minimalism. It was very interesting and motivating. I've also been hearing a lot about Marie Kondo's book, The Life Changing Magic Of Tidying Up. Also known as the KonMari Method. It sounds very very interesting. There are parts of it that may be a bit goofy, like talking to items... but I'm definitely interested in getting this book.
Hubby and I have collected lots of things over the years. More than we care to have anymore. A simpler lifestyle with less stuff sounds very appealing. It's easy to become trapped by the "crap". Less is more.
So that's what's been going on around here. Trying to stay sane! Talk to you later.
Blessings!
