OMG!! I can't believe it's done AND that I'm actually writing Part 2 the very next day! These are major accomplishments people! 😆
I just finished Part 1 - Building Custom Pantry Shelves, so if you missed that post, click on over and check it out!!
Sooo.... this is where I left you... Yay!!! All Done!!!
But... once we finished, we had to cram everything back into it, because we were having guests over and couldn't leave it the way it was....
This just cracks me up!! Literally we just shoved stuff wherever there was a spot. 😂 And it wasn't completely finished because you can still see the black screws in the supports.
So, the very next day, I emptied everything out. Caulked all of the shelves and repainted those areas.
Also, it was very apparent that I needed to add a clear coat. There were markings all over. They cleaned up easy enough, but I decided to add 2 coats of Minwax Polycrylic.
Here you can see a closeup of the corner. Nothings perfect, because I don't expect anyone's nose to be all in my pantry checking my corners and see if everything's perfect. 😜
I absolutely LOVE it!! So, then it came to really organizing it! Real life organizing. It must be pretty, but just being pretty isn't enough. I need it to be both, pretty AND functional.
Let's start from the top and work our way down. There is a hidden shelf that you can't see until you get much closer and look all the way up. This pantry has so much extra space, that I decided to put a extra shelf to hold my back up staples. I even ordered a little foldable stool from Amazon, to hang on the door so I can easily reach that shelf. 👍 (you can see it in the photo above.)
Those little side shelves are perfect for little bottles of this and that.
Remember, I said that I wanted a shelf for my canned goods, and that I didn't want to have to stack them. Well, this shelf worked out perfectly! ( I don't mind stacking cans of tuna! 😊)
I picked up those large plastic containers at Walmart, for only $4.97. The Chalkboard Labels, I purchased on Amazon.
It really made a difference putting food in these identical containers. It makes everything looks so clean and organized!!
My heart is singing!!! All of the smaller lidded containers, I've been saving. Chia seeds and the raw cashews I purchased come in these containers. 😊 I even have a Instagram Highlight about how to easily remove the labels.
Look! My Kitchen Aid is sooo easy to get to now. Yay! Plus there was plenty of room for a few other taller appliances.
I love having my baking supplies handy.
The oils on a lazy-susan is a game changer!!!
I am loving these bins!
I picked up the white bins at the Dollar Tree! Yep! Can you believe it! They work perfect in here! Most of them are labeled which makes life easy!
Everything has a home. 🙌
The woven baskets I found at Walmart for $7.96 each. I couldn't find them online. I use them to hold chips and open snacks.
And lastly, the bottom crates and metal storage bins. I've had the metal storage containers for years... I'm pretty sure I picked them up at IKEA. They hold paper goods, recycles, and kitty food. The wood crates... you won't believe it... Hubby dumpster dived for them. 🤭🤣 They hold little bags of chips for lunches and the other one is just for overflow.
My life will never be the same. This has ruined me! I want all things organized like this!!
Now that it's all done, sometimes I just sit in the kitchen with the pantry doors open and stare at it! It is so functional and easy to find things. I don't think Hubs and I will have any problems keeping this pantry organized. The pantry spice door freed up so much space, I have room to spare! What???!!! Room to spare?? 😍
Thanks for stopping by and reading!!

DeleteHi there did you use an existing pantry space? or you build it from scratch? please let me know I'm in the processes to build one from scratch. But the space I have available is not square.
