Easy Pot Roast {&Comfort Food Link Party!!}

Now, when I say "EASY"...
I mean EASY!!
I love pot roast.  It has such wonderful memories for me.  When my mom was living, she would have such fun having everybody over to her tiny little apartment and cook pot roast and vegetables.  She wasn't much of a cook, but she knew how to do pot roast right! Everytime!
I'm going to share that little secret with you!

But first I want to welcome any readers that are coming from
Sara @ Major Hoff Takes A Wife.
Thanks for stopping by!
Also to share about The Comfort Food Blog Hop & Link Party.
As the weather starts turning a bit chillier, are you looking for more comfort food to eat? I know I am!
Something warm and tasty? Ooooo that sounds good!
Who wants to eat a nice hot soup or stew in summer?
Not me...

So, if you check back here throughout the week, you should see some delicious recipes!!
This Par-Tay is going on all week!

Then at the end of the week, we'll all be picking our favorites!

Now, on to that little secret....
If you've read my blog for awhile, you might get the impression that I really don't like to cook... And I don't.  It's something, I've done out of necessity,
so any short cut I can find I grab!
Have you ever used Reynolds oven bags?
That's the secret!  I cook my Thanksgiving turkey in them too.
Always moist and tender, with no basting!
That's it, isn't that easy?!

I follow the instructions that come with it.
It's really simple. Pop the meat and veggies in the bag, cook as directed.
That was hard.... not!
This time I put in mushrooms which were sooo delish! And that's how you get this... :)

Off we go to the Blog Hop, which means you get to visit all 8 hosts and see their Comfort Food Recipes.

  4. I've never tried the oven bags for roast. It sure makes the clean up easier. Did I see sweet potatoes in your pot roast? I've got to try that the next time I make roast.

    1. Hi Sallie! Clean up is a breeze, and yes! Those were sweet potatoes in there.... so good! Funny how I seemed to forget to add the carrots.

  5. This looks like the perfect thing to cook for my elderly parents (since I don't cook much at my empty-nester house...I'm a lazy cook too) at their apartment and call dinner "done". It is SO beautiful on the plate too...a big bonus...some pot roasts cooked in the slow cooker don't look that pretty even if they taste good. Thanks for hosting this party for us.
