Organizing and Purging {My Linen Closet}

Hi there! I'm so glad you stopped by! Today, I'm going to share my messy to organized linen closet.

I'm learning how to write a post one handed and left handed.... The result of my shoulder surgery, you can read about that here.

Too Much Time On My Hands

It's been quite a challenge. But with the help of technology and talk to text, I just might get the hang of it.

Before surgery I was cooking up a storm and doing some cleaning. I had finally had it with my linen closet and decided it needed to be completely purged.

I'll be completely honest, I hadn't touched, organized, or cleaned this closet since we moved in. That was 7 years ago! 😳 I know, you're shocked! Don't be... sometimes things have to bug me long enough before I'll do anything about them. This was one of them.

So, I decided to empty the entire closet. Of course I didn't take a photo before. That's just the way I roll. As you can see I have way too much junk in there. I had things in there I haven't touched in years.  Time to purge.

See me in the mirror? (peace out ✌)

It feels really good to purge crap from your life, doesn't it? For me, it just seems so cleansing. Why do we hang onto things? Who knows!

This post isn't going to have some magical new way to organize your stuff. Its about just getting it done! Stop putting it off. Whether it's a closet, cabinet, drawer or whatever, sometimes we need a little push to get started. So, here's your push. 😊

It's gonna feel great once you do it!

I was able to get rid of bags of trash! Now a fresh start.

I can't believe how clean it is. The drawer unit has toothbrushes, toothpaste, extra razors, small items like that. Cleaning products on the bottom shelf.

I know that all my baskets don't match and I don't have cute labels hanging on them either. I'm working with what I have. I really don't want to go out and spend more money on more baskets when I have plenty.

Now maybe during the summer I'll pull them all out and spray paint them to match. I mean really, I'm the only one that's going to see them. 😎

Basically, I kept only what I really use. In the baskets, I have hand soaps, body creams, and body sprays. I have a thing for Bath & Body Works if you couldn't tell...😊

Also, there is a container for my hair dye supplies, nail supplies, travel items, etc. Hubby only has one container and that's for deodorant and shave cream.

I don't think it's necessary to spend a lot of money just to get organized.

I could've easily used cardboard boxes or shoeboxes and covered them with wrapping paper. I've made plenty of organizers with cereal boxes.

Voila!  Organized!  It is so much easier to find things now. Aren't you glad I pushed you? 😉

Blessings,
