Seriously! I feel like my outfit from the top up wont let go of summer and the bottom half is ready for fall. Why am I laughing? Well, basically, cracking myself up. It's foggy and breezy out, my shirt kept flipping up and my hair in my face, as I'm awkwardly trying to place my feet, not fall over and look like a goof and trying to get the remote to work all at the same time. Whew! Hahaha!
Are you all ready for fall? Check out the trees in front of my house... I'd say they are ready! Hubby snapped this pic.
I can't believe they are already turning that gorgeous red!
Anyway, I've worn the black ankle pants before and you know what? I was looking at my clothes in the closet and realizing I only have one other pair of dress pants and they're black, too. All my other pants are jeans. Really? I think I need a few pairs to get through the fall and winter. I don't want to wear the same pants to church every week...
The shirt is just like my light pink one that I wore a couple of weeks ago, you can see that one HERE. I also picked this one up at JCPenny's for $2.97! I layered it with a coral tank top and I thought I'd try on a scarf. I'm not much of a scarf wearer. I don't know, maybe I just haven't gotten the hang of them. It seems to work.
We had one of the men in our congregation give The Word yesterday. He talked about the 120 in the upper room and how they were in "one accord", unanimous, of one mind. That doesn't happen too much today, to get even a few in agreement. But there were 120 people in agreement waiting for this one gift from The Lord.
Think about this, out of all the people Jesus and His disciples ministered to and healed, only 120 were there in the upper room in one accord. Remember all of the thousands that were miraculously fed, not just once but twice, and so many healings. Yet, only 120. Were they the only ones completely sold out for Christ? I hope not. Are we sold out? Am I sold out?
In all of the different "hats" I wear, wife, mother, friend, worker... am I the same Christian when I wear each one? Am I the same person? I'd like to think so...
Matthew 5:13,14 (NLT)
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
We are the salt. What's the quality of your salt? Something to think about.
We are the light of the world. What kind of light? A candle? A flashlight? A spotlight? A floodlight? Are we thinking about these things?
Or are our thoughts filled with fears or doubts? Are we anxious or distracted? Are we holding grudges and resentments?
Here is what we need to be thinking about.
Philippians 4: 6-9 (NLT)
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
Another thing... we need to forgive. Forgiveness sets us free. Forgiving ourselves for our failures and mistakes, and forgiving others. How's your thinking? Are you reliving how that person hurt you? Are you beating yourself up for a failure. We need to forgive, let go and move on. It will free you.
One of the last things he said was this...
"Life is 10% of what happens to us, 90% how we react to it."
So true.
Blessings,
