Hi there friends!! I've been focusing on my makeup a bit more lately. Mostly because my daughter is getting married in less than 30 days!! Yay! So, I've been playing with it a bit more than usual.I am a girly girl and I've really always loved makeup, but you know $$, kids, and life sometimes make you put yourself on the backburner... I want to look my best, not only for my hubby but for me. It makes me feel good. Who doesn't like to feel good?
I believe that it's much more important that you are beautiful on the inside. Yet, I also believe in taking care of yourself to make you the best you can be. That includes makeup!
Most days, I use the minimum... like no makeup at all! 😜 Well, I guess it just depends on what the week brings... I try to reserve Mondays as 'No Makeup Monday'. The face needs a breather! As least that's what I think. 😊
My usual easy daily (kinda) makeup is pretty simple. Maybe I should do a post on that? Hmm.... It's usually, foundation, blush, a tad bit of neutral eyeshadow, and mascara. That only takes me about 10 minutes. I like quick!
Some of these products that I LOVE, I use for the easy daily makeup. Some are for the more made up look, like going on a date with hubs, a wedding, or Sunday church. Let's get to it!
1. L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
Wow! That's a mouthful! This stuff really is magic! It goes on white and turns to your natural color. It comes in different shades, so you need to pick one that is close to you. But I LOVE this stuff! It blurs imperfections and looks so natural. If this had better staying power, my foundation hunt would be over. Seriously. It's perfect for everyday, although, it doesn't have sunscreen. So, I always wear sunscreen under it. This [one] is my fav!
2. L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Primer Mascara
I have really been into mascara lately... I don't know why, but I'm all about the lashes lately. I heard great things about this product and it doesn't disappoint. It really thickens your lashes and makes it look like you have more than you do. It helps the mascara stay put also. I'm pretty impressed.
3. Hard Candy Hydra-Prime Primer Lotion
This has revolutionized my dry face when it comes to makeup! It is only $8 at Walmart. AND... you only need the tiniest dab of it for your entire face and neck. This has helped my foundation stay on and for those foundations that are a bit drying, this helps my face from 'cracking'. Seriously, sometimes, I see little cracks here and there from the foundation sucking all the moisture from my skin! I have been trying all kinds of foundation, trying to find my perfect one. This keeps my skin looking dewy but not oily or shiny (not that I've ever had that problem 😜 ).
4. e.l.f Cream Blush
Love this little beauty! It's $4 (so cheap!), but packs a punch! It's so easy to apply and gives that natural glow. It's perfect for an everyday natural look.
5. e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set
I was skeptic about setting sprays... I just didn't think they were all that. Well, until you try one. Sometimes, after you've added all the setting powder you can look a little too 'powdery'. A couple mists of this and you look natural again and it helps set and keep your makeup nicely. This was the first one I ever tried and too be honest I haven't tried any others. It's only $3, so I didn't mind trying it for that price. But now that I have, I'm more open to other ones. Any suggestions? I'm definitely interested. 👍
So, those are my makeup favorites right now. I really like trying new things, but when you find something that works for your skin, I kinda like to stick with it.... At least for awhile...
Last time, I shared some of My Skincare Favorites. You can click over and check those out. When you're over 50 your skin changes and your needs change, too. I need a bit more help here and there... 😉
I'd love to hear what you all are using and what is working for you!
Blessings!
