My Second Year of Blogging...and a few ideas for this year

I can't believe that I've already been blogging for 2 years!?
Like life in general the years are flying by...
I can't believe that I've been married almost 26 years, my both my kiddos are over 20, we've lived in our home almost 4 years, my husband turned 50 and that means I'm almost there too!

Whew!!
Kinda making me feel a little old...But how can that be I don't feel a day over....33.  Yeah, 33, that sounds good!
So.
What about blogging for 2 years?
Do I still enjoy it?
Why do I still write?
Blogging has had it's ups and downs.
The only thing I wish for was more time.  I think I would write more.
I definitely would write more!
And YES! I do still enjoy writing.  Writing has continued to be an expression of me, what I think, what I like, who I am and who I want to be. Writing this blog has created a journal or a timeline of my life, that I'm sharing with you all.
It includes the ups and the downs, the ins and the outs of all that's happening here at The Stonybrook House.

In the past 2 years I have made some incredible friends through blogging and am extremely thankful for their encouragement and support.
My Hubby has been my biggest fan and he continues to cheer me on and support me, love that guy! <3 Thank you, Honey!!

So, what's in store?
Lord willing, Hubby and I really really want to work on our kitchen/dining/living room. Oh, and don't forget the garage we got started on in the fall.
That will be up first!
And...
I'm considering adding a new element.

Beauty

Beauty on the inside and outside.
Being over 40 and getting closer to 50
has it's challenges when it comes to skincare, hair and fashion.
I'm no expert that's for sure,
but I thought it might be helpful for me to share
some of my challenges and tips that have worked for me.

In my opinion, beauty is as beauty does,
and who I am on the inside.
So, another goal will be to
share more scripture to enhance our inner beauty to shine.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last: but a woman
who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.  Proverbs 31:30

I want to thank all of you who read my little ole blog.
Your encouragement and support means the world to me.

Thank you!
Blessings to you and your families,

  3. Enjoying your blog Lori. Haven't commented before. With all the reading I do on a daily basis it's difficult to talk with everyone. Anyway, today's post was beautiful. I loved everything you wrote. Getting older can be rough. I'm here/there already! Haaha. Most important and necessary goal(s) these days are to adjust, and keep adjusting to our brutal temperatures. We have very little choice being stuck in this polar vortex, that continues. Ugh. Keep blogging!

  4. I admire what you have done here. Think adding beauty is a great idea because I think you are truly beautiful inside and out. It's easy to see where your daughter gets it from. So grateful God brought you both into our lives! - Mary (aka Jared's mom)
