My Fashion Over 40 ~ God Isn't Looking For Perfect People

Hello!
Fall has definitely fallen here in beautiful central Pennsylvania.  This is one of my favorite times of year. The leaves are all turning colors and it's simply breathtaking!

So, I've begun to embrace the fall season.  I fought it long enough. I've got my hoodie on and we've officially turned the heat on.  This past Sunday, it was a bit chilly.
My Fashion Over 40
There was no way I was going out for pictures. Brrrr.... But, hey, the orange door is a great backdrop for fall.  :)

I'm a pretty basic gal, and cheap!  This top, I kinda forgot about in my closet....  It still had the tags on it, so that means it's new and I've never worn it! Are you guessing where I got it?? Wally World... clearance $3.  It's kinda thin, so I wore a cami under it.  I like the dolman sleeves and it drapes nice. The jean skirt is an oldie from Target clearance and I'm sure you've seen these flats before.  Tights I think were a clearance item at Wally too.

This outfit is definitely missing something.... It's too plain.  Yes, I need some scarves.  A leopard print scarf would be awesome! Or some sort of black print.  Hmmm.  I'll have to keep my eyes open.

I've been working on fall decor in the house.  And I've come to the conclusion that I stink at vignettes. Seriously, all those gorgeous displays on Pinterest and mine look like blah... Still working on them.

~ God Isn't Looking For Perfect People! ~

Did you know that? He's looking for regular people like you and me that are flawed and make a bajillion mistakes! We had a special speaker at our church this last Sunday.  He spoke from Matthew 20: 1-16, the parable of the vineyard workers. Where the landowner went to town to look for workers. As he found them, he sent them to the vineyard to work.  Some he found in the morning, some in the early afternoon, and some a little later.  He went out again and found some even later right before the work day was done. He sent them all to work in the vineyard.

When he was handing out the days wages, he started with those that only worked an hour.  They received a whole days wage! So, the ones that worked longer expected a bit more than just a days wage.  I mean they worked way more than those that only worked an hour! Well, weren't they surprised when they got the same wage! They started to protest to the landowner.

And this is what the landowner said.  I love this...
Matthew 20: 13-16
“He answered one of them, ‘Friend, I haven’t been unfair! Didn’t you agree to work all day for the usual wage? 14 Take your money and go. I wanted to pay this last worker the same as you. 15 Is it against the law for me to do what I want with my money? Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?’
16 “So those who are last now will be first then, and those who are first will be last.”
Wow! Most of us, (me included), would be "No Fair!" But God isn't about fair. God will do as He sees fit.  He blesses people that we would think don't deserve it.  He even uses people that we think, "He would never use them".  We might not actually say it, but we are thinking these things.

Why do we think this way? I thinking maybe because we think we are better.... we deserve more... we would do a better job... we worked harder.  Hmmm.  Is that so? Why can't God use and bless those that don't deserve it?

Do you look down on people? Judge people?  I caught myself doing it just this Sunday.  I had to ask God to forgive me about half a dozen times... Just being honest. A friend of mine shared this on Facebook.

I love this!!

So, God is going to use who He wants, when He wants, and how He wants.  God did not use perfect people in the Bible. In fact, a lot of the Bible was written by some pretty bad characters. God doesn't judge us on our past.  He forgives.  We need His forgiveness.  We just need to ask for it. He knows all about us, the good, the bad and the very ugly and He still loves us!

There is nothing in us that deserves His love, forgiveness, or salvation. Thank God, He doesn't give us what we deserve.

Lord, help me remember that when I'm tempted to judge or look down on people. We have no idea what they are going through or what they've been through.

Let's rejoice when others are blessed! God is soooo good! He is a Good Father, and He loves to bless His children!

Have a great day!
