Gardening around Stonybrook{Life in the Fast Lane}

You've probably thinking I’ve dropped off the face of the planet….
But no I’m still here!

It’s just hard to find time to write, when you’re flying in the fast lane!
So, here’s an update on what I’ve been doing….
I’m actually so excited to show you.
Spring is one of my FAVORITE times of the year.
I get to be outside more and get my hands dirty!

Where do I start?
Let's see how are my rhododendrons are doing.
They bloomed!
Gorgeous, right?

If you look in the background you can see the other side is blooming too!
Sooo pretty!  I can’t wait til they grow another foot or so.
Just ignore the lonely onion growing in the garden… they are so hard to get rid of!

Now for the street light garden.
Here’s the before…

Hubby was sweet to bring me coffee on the day we were working on it.
He’s so wonderful!!

We bought some turf to fill in, about 6 rolls of it.

Hubby also cut down the sewer pipe so we don't have worry
about hitting that with the mower.
Before I put the dirt in the veggie planter boxes, I took out most of the turf and filled in some of the empty spots the rolls didn't cover.
Then used the rest around some of our drains in the yard.

Now it’s finished!  Yay!
Now my mulch will stay contained and not run down the street.

This past weekend we went to Lowes and bought all of this…

Some for the veggie garden and some for a few planters.

These are for the veggie garden.

I also added some onion…. I’ve never grown them before,
so we’ll see how it goes.

I love the yellow!

Now let the growing begin… I can just taste the salsa now!!! Yum!!

I planted a few pots with flowers.

They look a bit scrawny now, but they will fill in and be so full!

I still am looking for the right window boxes.  I haven’t had much luck.
I WILL find them… I just need a little patience… I’ve never had much of that….

We are also finished with this last apartment;
I’ll take some pics and show you.
It really came out nice!

We are taking the week off
before we start the next apartment.
So, I think I'll start to work on this….
It will be going in the office.

I was having a little fun with Pic Monkey….

The other thing I’ve been working on is the basement.
It’s been rainy here, and it seemed like the right time to get back
 to that “fun” project.
I’ve made progress…. I finally got Christmas put away.
I figured I should really get on this it is almost June!
Wow, where does the time go??
No pics on that yet, I want it to be finished.
So, I'm going to jump back into the fast lane and get moving.
Thanks for stopping by...  :)

    1. Hi Janis! Thanks! I have been busy, but I like it that way.... We have been pretty steady in the 70's lately, which is soooo nice! But I think we are hitting the mid 80's this weekend. Before long we'll be sweltering with you!
